In the USA you can buy an attachment that turns your iphone into a thermal imaging camera. The current cost is about $349 which is considerably less than other hand held units. While they are very useful for finding heat leaks in your house there are reports of them being used to record keypad presses on PIN machines and they allow would-be burglars to see if a house is occupied or vacant.

Looks good. A thermal imagining scope is on my list of things I don't need but really want. At that price I could probably justify it.
Be interesting to see if it's launched over here, with the iPhone 6 on the way (this week?) it might keep the cost down.
