Ficus are incredibly strong.

I have a pic somewhere of a ficus holding several hundred tons of fractured cliff face in place.

But what impresses me about these bridges is the makers sense of time. These are not people living for the next sensation/ thrill but see decades ahead. They are investing in the future in a way few people in "our" world are.

Now that is so cool and forward thinking. How about not doing something for yourself but for your descendants. Fantastic synergy of human ingenuity and natures wonderul diversity.

That is seriously impressive, both in skills and ingenuity, and in attitude.
Reading through the article it's a good thing the guy at the hotel saw the wonder and potential of them, as long as thats managed well and dosn't bring the extra problems that can come with 'tourism'.
