An attempt to create a long distance walking route taking in some of the most prominent national parks into a single journey.

4000km ( 2500 miles ) connecting Nairns to Plymouth. Walking 20km ( 12 miles ) a day it would take 200 days to walk the trail.

The idea of a trail connecting all 15 of Britain’s National Parks has been bubbling away for years. It has been imagined, mapped, discussed, tested and steadily improved by people across the Slow Ways community.

I think that would be superb.

I think the coastal trail one, right round the main island, would be another though.

That was hard enough by vehicle :) - though we pretty much went down every road and track that reached the sea and hugged the coast as tight as we could (including driving along beaches where possible). I haven't added up the miles yet but the British coast is pretty fractal!
