Right, let’s see if this works.

I wondered if I should call this thread The Last Chance Saloon but that’s too posh!
The idea is that what is my trash and due for the skip just might be useful to someone else.

This isn’t a gift it on - there is no obligation to offer anything if you take an item away.

It isn’t a swap shop, there is no need to offer anything in return.

It isn’t a sales outlet as the item posted is free.

This is an experiment. I don’t particularly own the thread. If it crashes and burns then so be it.

I suspect it will work best when the junk gets piled high so it will need posts.

What about postage and packing?
Well I think @Chris had the best idea:

Poster states whether
- They will pay postage.
- Recipient pays postage.
- PM the poster and discuss alternatives.

PM the giver if you want an item. Keep the thread as a shop window. (Not sure about that yet)

Everything offered must be legal to own and legal to post as well as being posted legally.

Everything offered must, as far as possible, be safe. Recipients should recognise that offerings are often very used. Recipients may well repurpose.

“Old and battered” can be taken as a given but may be described further by the giver.

No returns. If you are disappointed then stick it in the skip.

Any disputes (why would you?) are between the giver and recipient and shall not concern Bushcraft UK unless it’s own rules are breached.

It makes sense to edit or delete your post as items are taken. (Delete and just leave something like “gone”

Both jugs and cups are chipped on the inside. Falcon, who make them say they are still food safe. They could be useful for non food of course, glue, paint, anything. If you want I’ll make a new handle for the one that’s missing.

These are original M40/44 spirit fuel bottles. 250ml = two fills for the military burner and two and a half for the domestic Trangia burner.

They fit comfortably in a jacket/smock pocket.

Two slices of bread or nearly a pack of bacon! I was going to adapt the hinge loops to make it more variable (for bigger sausages). Now you can do that.
