to be honest ive changed my esbit stove to use alcahol gel...
but my stash of cheap hexamine, planning on using it in my model steam engine mostly....
because it has a little slide out fuel tray, it wont like alcahol gel.....
need to find anotehr fuel.......
But the smell!!!
reminds me of camping holidays...or at least teh smell of rotting fish in scottish/devon harbour villages....
"Zip High performance Barbecue lighters", not the horrible card board things, look like/seem to be similar to hexi. According to the box they are made with kerosene. Burns for quite while when lighting the house woodstove. Not tried them on my hexi stove yet, probably this weekend.

I wouldn't eat farmed salmon if you paid me £75 a kilo! The Soil Association are currently considering whether to withdraw from certifying salmon as even organic production methods are an ecological horror.
I run on Lidl/Aldi frozen wild caught salmon, £7.50/kg full price. Delicious and MSC certified, but questionable, transported halfway round the planet and far from ideal still, but the lesser evil by my reckoning.
