No, I'm not that reliant on hexamine to justify it TBH. I never particularly liked using the stuff.
"Zip High performance Barbecue lighters", not the horrible card board things, look like/seem to be similar to hexi. According to the box they are made with kerosene. Burns for quite while when lighting the house woodstove. Not tried them on my hexi stove yet, probably this weekend.
