If any of you guys an gals are in the south west with your fishing gear then its worth a look at the bristol channal as the cod are now in.
I had a good day up there today with a strike on almost every cast. According to a local fisherman its been like that for the past few days

More details please, boat or beach, tide, bait. Basically everything I need to do without having to figure it out for myself would be nice.

Last time I fished the channel for Cod in October I got 2 very nice Bass, so much for specialised fishing

Sunny Wales!
Been up for a fortnight.... Depending on the wyting population and where it is defines where's fishing best.

Not been out this year myself, but a mate had 6 codling (so I'm assuming under 6lb) last night, they are up as far as the powerstation, maybe as much as Lydney or whatevers opposite.

Rising neap tides unless you have some serious lead, pulley pennel rigs with a large lug bait works at my spots, had the odd one on squid but lug always peforms. Never had any luck with crap/makkie.
Rock patches or undewater features always fish better than clean mud banks this side.

All from shore, I dont do boats.

hth, TBL.
