Lundy sounds grand. Wish I could join you.

But I suspect I will be in the Iron Age again.

Do be sure to see the Heritage as well as the Puffins.

Puffin! You haven’t heard her trying to crawl out of a tent in the morning :lmao:

Cheap but good then look at Vango or Alpkit. I prefer Vango personally. A solid brand from Govan originally (or at least that was how it got its name). My vango tents owned over the years: -
Forec 10 vitesse (two man single skin)
Vango something in two man that was a side entry tent but not a banshee or anything like the ones on sale now. Bombproof and about 2kg. Plus extra, extra long for my 196cm frame!
Vango alpha/beta
Force 10/vango UL 1 man tent
7 man vango family tent
4 man vango family tent
Vango porch awning tarp thingy
Another tent I can not quite remember

I think that is 8 vango / force 10 tents that I can remember. It could be more. I often got very good deals from a small, independent camping shop near Kendal that I think has long closed. I got on well with the owner and he always gave me very competitive prices and/or threw in a freebie. We kept going back, perhaps it was an addiction??

Vango and robens are my go to brands for tents.
My robens fairbanks is my favourite small tent, but its not for backpacking!

The only robens I have is the free CCF mat the Vango retailer gave me when I bought a new vango tent. I later cut it up to a foldable torso mat weighing less than 100g!!

Have a look at the Alpkit Soloist XL. Super light, a bit dog kennel....y but was up fastest in our camps recently with a simple single pole. Really windy resistant especially tail into the wind. Great value.
