the title means winter war but is relevant. years ago i read about the finnish war with russia back in 39 and about the way they operated as small teams.

during the winter they had a winter ration which was mainly dried berries and suet. as far as I'm aware it was eaten like trail mix but I suppose they could have made a fruit pemmican

thanks to sargey I've got a load of spare suet so wondered if anyone knew what it was called or a recipe for it.
