Taking the nippers camping

Hi, I'm looking to take my 2 kids camping next spring.
They will be 6 & 8 and I've taken them to campsites before but I'm looking to get them away from all that for a proper camp, probably somewhere around Brecon Beacons/black mountains or snowdonia.
Any recommendations from people who have taken there nippers away?
Looking for somewhere that will keep them interested I.e bit of mountain walking with waterfalls, some trails for mountain biking.
Any and all ideas welcome

Bang in the mountains, river runs through the site to play in. Kids had an amazing time.

No, but we wished we had. Plenty to explore.

http://www.priorymillfarm.co.uk/ Fires allowed, by a river, very clean toilet block and you would not believe you are a short walk from Brecon town and a pint for dad.

My grandson was four on his first trip there, he's been three or four times since and loves it.

http://www.graigwen.co.uk is a great place for a first trip. Fires allowed, very quiet, great woodland for kids to explore and they're bushcraft fans. Good access to the Mawdddach Cycle trail and not too far to walk to a decent pub. My kids enjoyed their trips there and a nice way to introduce them to a less formal campsite environment.
