Swiss volcano stove and gas burner

I wondered whether it would be possible to fit the Trangia gas adapter inside the swiss volcano stove and the answer is yes, it is a very good fit. I have not tried it out in the field yet, but it ought to make for a very fast and controllable boil, in jet boil territory. Only thing is the volcano stove isn't much cop for cooking anything much other than MREs.

Having just tried it out, I think I will put it in the realms of doable rather than advisable or convenient. It was not the easiest thing to light and it would need a few mods to get the burner to stay snugly in place. It took six minutes to boil 500ml of water so I don't think it is really worth the bother.

If that’s the stove I’m thinking it is, sadly, they seem to sell for over a thousand pounds when, very rarely, they’re available.
