Swiss Gel Fuel Stove: Any good?

Anyone any experience of using this little stove? In your experience would it be preferable to the MOD Hexamine Stove. Thanks for any input.

Prefer the hexi. The Gel is ok for emergency but not for me. Slower and feels like less heat.

I've got a few of these and used them on occasion. First thing is that they only come about a quarter full of gel, which was a bit disappointing! No problem though, you can refill with alcohol gel - lots available in the UK from garden stores or the dreaded ebay, although I get mine by the 5litre from french supermarkets - around 2 Euro/litre. Comes with its own potstand, but will need a windshield - again easy to make from an old foil cake tin etc. OK as an emergency backup, and in my opinion I much prefer alcohol to the esbit-type hexi.
