Swedish Army M90 Parka, have any of you guys git any experience of these jackets, i've found them for £20, are they worth the cash, nice and warm. Are they fleece lined?

Cheers chaps!

:)

I don't own one, but I've had a close look at some - they are definitely worth the £20 that they are going for in alot of places (they are basically an improved US fishtail type parka, which go for £60, with a quilt liner built in if I remember correctly).

The sizes on the label are based on weight in kg and your height in cm.

looks good i had the old type which was really warm without the hood, looks like a good buy!

if its the one with the yellow inside,i got one off a surplus shop mail order for £20.its a warm coat, seems pretty windproof. main concern is thorns/barbed wire,it doesnt seem very ripproof.

It is really good. The whole jacket rolls in to the hood for easy storage. Definetly worth it, though it cost less than £10 here. Might want to consider something warmer if you're going somewhere colder then -10 though.

I know that this may be a bit of a retro-post,but I've just brought one of these in prep for the winter(I work in the great outdoors).I managed to get a brand new one for £20,plus postage..£5.99 (parcelforce). What a great deal.A highly adaptable and functional coat, more than worth the money.I may fit a hood wire, and elasticated cord at the waist, but other than that, good to go.
How waterproof is it? I don't know yet,but apparently thay do have some kind of treatment.
Reccomended.

There are, incidentally, two versions of this parka out there. One (earlier) with a hood but also with a fabric that turns *quite* noisy in cold weather, and one (later) without the hood but aslo blessedly quiet even when cold. I use one of the latter when moose hunting, the other one drives me batty with the noise.

The Plan[TM] is to make a new hooded winter parka with poly-cotton shell and either wool blanket material or modern polyester batting. Or an all-wool rya rug (thick pile rug, more like fake fur) The latter would be very warm, but that is one of the nice points of that idea. Or to buy 4-6 of the IKEA sheep-skins and start sewing
