Stove proximity to canvas

Afternoon all.
I'm in the process of making a modified baker tent (or at least a vague approximation of one), and I'm wondering how close I can get the stove to the side-wall.
The fabric is 10oz waterproof cotton and the stove is a Helsport Lavvu Oven
I'm in the process of making the gasket for the chimney, and I'm not worried about that bit.
I'm just worried about how far from the side wall the stove can be without anything going horribly wrong. I'm planning on adding a peg out point at the bottom of the sidewall to reduce movement in the wind.
Is there anything I can do to reduce any risk, such as sewing a reflective survival blanket (as handed out after most charity runs) to the sidewall?

Many thanks in advance,

Sam.

I would caution against using a survival blanket. The mylar (or similar) would melt if the temperature got too high. At best it would cause a mess and at worst might promote the very thing you are trying to prevent.

If you are looking to use some form if material as protection take a look at a fire blanket or welders blanket. The former can be picked up quite readily and offcuts of the latter can be found on eBay.

Happy stoving!

I've run a large Kni-co Packer stove in my 10oz canvas tent with around a foot of clearance at the back, and that's running it for a week constantly on one trip.

Not great pics but you get the idea ..
