I have been told that UHB20C is a reasonably good knife steel. I have been using 01 for about a year, but UHB20C is cheaper and I can combine with my Brisa order.

I was wondering if anybody knew how to heat treat it, as i have googled and nobody seems to know.

advantages/ disadvantages of it would also be appreciated...

Thanks,

Ph34r:thankyou:

First hit on google gets a thread on British Blades that can give yo all the answers you need. :D

However, to be nice....

The suggestion is that it's similar to W1 aka silver steel, which is a water quench steel. If you're not brave enough to go for a water quench, you can give it a try in oil first. If it doesn't hard sufficiently with the oil quench then give the water a try. :)

Awesome, i like the hiss from the water quench - makes me feel like robin hood!

Lol, didn't see the second page of that when I looked! Thanks
