They have a way doing that, and the "you'll benefit from this in the future" line just doesn't cut it untill it is the future and the gen is engraved on the inside of your skull. dad'sare cool, but not at the time.

I must admit that although I am a computer engineer amongst other things I hate technology in many ways as it's difficult to find things that are actually useful to me most of the time, but one of the ones on android tells me the names of all the constellations and that does so much to improve my astral navigation. I have a fair amount using the normal ones, but this just gives me a little edge.

PowerMonkey Explorer does the job of keeping a good level of power to the smart phone for whilst I am away for a period of time.

The smart phone just helps to increase my knowledge or nudge the memory, I've finally found something useful on a phone / organiser / PDA thanks actually to my brother.

Not really bushcraft or survival, but if it works, it works.

A really good app to download for your computer is Stellarium; you can put in your location etc. and it's very easy to use - and it will also show you satellite overflights as well. Best of all, it's free!

For my Itouch I use Iuniverse which I find very good.

I like this time of year - Jupiter gets into view at a reasonable time and you can now see the Andromeda Galaxy, whihc I believe is the most distant object you can see with the naked eye.
