I'm free climbing with Sammi so it will be only the most easy of route's as she is very new to it, she finds the thrill in it, but I don't want to scare her away from being bold, you know how it is, pushing out a comfort zone so it grows but not so far as to scare them and have it shrink back badly due to going to far too soon.
Yes comfort zones are very personal. Last time I absailed I still got the shaky legs syndrome going over the lip. But I know that once I get past that moment it's exciting fun.
I took my daughter abseiling years ago and her first drp was 200 feet. Brave girl! She was nine yrs old. My son freaked out at 50 feet and never did it again.
It's about facing your dragons and heights was always one of mine. Even the bridge across to Wales is a problem for me unless I'm a passanger. Even then I'm sweating!
Fear of falling .... but I love abseiling? ???? Get that one!

Just had a look at my weather feed and we should be topping 20 degrees this month . Apparently the second beastie snowstorm predicted for Feb 14th is cancelled and we are getting a heatwave that makes us hotter than Australia instead. Hmmm realy?

For many years I earned my living (in part) as a climbing instructor - but I am terrified by heights (or more accurately, drops)!
I cannot stand on a chair without feeling that tingle of fear...

Three steps up a ladder and it's like I'm in the middle of an earthquake! Changing light bulbs is real fun.... not! I have actually fallen off a step up trying to do that. I turn into a wobbly blob of jelly. Can't explain why I love abseiling.

Spring has sprung,
Fall has fell.
Winter's here and it's cold as Hello.

-24C at 5AM today.
Time to organize seeds and pots and soils and sand to get some things started.
I have my whole dowstairs kitchen with lights to play in.

I have great faith in climbing rope. Standing on chairs with my bad balance? Not.

Dunno if this will work from my phone, but we’ve just seen our first butterfly of the year here in NW Somerset
