If you have a long off cut, make a spread knife only from the wood.
In Sweden we use Juniper wood for our butter knives. As it is an oily wood the butter does not soak up (much) into the wood and go rancid.

Maybe you ought to try and find a full matching set of cutlery and handle the lot. That would look superb on any dining table
