Spalted Willow, off the knife finish, this me took about 40 minutes start to finish, has some amazing colours and patches of spalting running through it, the wood was just about viable as can be seen by some tear out in the bowl

Judging by your glassy knife marks, I encourage you to coach the curious into the
concept of "carving sharp." Obviously you can cut the transition between wood and punky spalt.

My hands hurt this morning. The diameter of this handle is approaching comfort level in size.
