the sea was like glass, completely flat and crystal clear.

this rock has been hollowed out by the sea, i can stand up in the hole, which gives you a idea of the size of the rock which is jammed in the top.

Lovely pics Andy, you should have tried climbing that hill with a full Sabre 75 and a 4 man tent in the midday sun yesterday, now that was hot.

Thanks for the invite fella although it was a shame we couldn't stick around a bit longer.

Next time I'm paddling round from Pettico Wick though :)

Rich i think you could have company there as tony was taking of doing the same thing. As for carrying stuff back up today i had to carry some of what id dropped off on the thursday,as well as my weekend kit, it was hot(11.30am ish) that climb doesnt get any easier, i had a wee dip in the sea yesterday but it was still a bit cold for any serious swimming, next time my snorkeling kits going with me, i went for a walk last night out on the rock stacks looking into that clear water and was cursing not having it with me. Im going again with my brother in August so i will take it then and hope for similar conditions.

Nice pics there Andy. First chance I get I will post some pictures too.
Talking to the GiF when I got home and she is up for camping at Pettico Wick around the last weekend of your brother and sister visiting, assuming that she is not still uncomfortable from the op.
Rich, why on earth would you want to paddle round from PW? Nothing to do with the gently sloping, non treacherous walk-in down the cliff-tops
Like Andy said, I too would be up for paddling in from PW.

Cheers.

Stuart f, nope no fishing done, basically between going up and down the cliff numerous times , looking round the place itself, collecting large quantities of drift wood, and almost baking in the heat, the only thing we felt like doing was chilling out and having the occasional paddle, I fancy the primitive fishing idea, the most abundant fish close to shore that ive seen in the past when snorkeling, are ballan wrasse how good they are to eat i wouldnt know, i did see shrimp of various size over the weekend in the rock pools ,and what looked like juvenile lobster, Tony keep me updated on a possible visit, im keen to see your pics when you get chance, and stooboys as well.

Andybysea had been drying his boiler suit on this box on the friday night but, it was gone in the morning and this was all that was left of the box, still a mystery how it happened.

Thanks for takeing the time and effort to organise andy, and for coordinating with the folks for parking and access. Despite the initial rain, and long walk down i think it was well worth it :thanks:

Just got in from work and had to stuff some old newspaper in my wet shoes (Thursdays Daily Record) and seen a picture of the ship in it. It was on a twelve day cruise around Britain.
