I love obsidian knives they are great to use; it amazes me how efficient they are.

i'll try to answer some of your questions...

the initials on the blade stand for the maker of the piece--Charles Brumbaugh II

he used modern tools to create the blade and handle. i certainly won't be using it--can't chance breaking it. i'm going to include its presentation in my stone age skills programs. all my students will see it.
