Hi, I just took some pictures of my Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack, and the tools I carry.
I was hoping to get some comments or suggestions for improvement from you guys.

This is my first posting here, so please be nice.. ;)

Nice set up on Flickr.
How about a bit more informaition about you? For instance, you haven't really introduced yourself. Where do you live, obviously you get snow! What do you plan to be bugging out from? It will help people offer more tailored suggestions, and also make them feel a little less like you are asking for something for nothing.

From my point of view, this is less a bug-out bag and more like a bloke's universal tool kit handbag:D At least, it looks like you take it with you to lots of places, hence swap the contents around as situations dictate, rather than having it packed and to be grabbed only in an emergency Obviously, getting stuck in a city overnight is going to call for different things than getting stuck on an empty highway.

Ah, as a fellow Versipack owner, that's what I like to see: Jumbo porn!

I would argue that it IS a bugout bag - small amount of essentials, easy to grab quickly and go. You set it up as you need it - they are very versatile.

Hi Chris and Mike and thanks for your comments.

Sorry for the missing intro, I am a hiker from in the northern part of Norway, and we are having some really snowy days up here now:)

Bugout was the most fitting short description I could think of.
Perhaps it fits the role of a butch outdoor manpurs... errr.. bag than a bugout bag lying in reserve for an emergency.
But having a bag lying around with tools I have limited experience with does not feel like a proper emergency kit to me.

I use this setup for shorter periods of outdoors hiking (1-3 days) and need it to have the tools for doing the day to day chores, and also provide support if I get lost or stranded for a longer period.
When there is snow the bag gets in the way of the ski poles, so I mostly use it in the warmer seasons.

I was hoping for some tips on essential equipment that always goes in your jacket, bag or backpak that is missing from my setup or gear you find totally useless

The bag is a bit overloaded already, but removing stuff now is really hard.
