Another finished project
blade forged from a file, handle carved from a beech knee branch.
To get the angle for the blade seat, I used a long straight plank as a straight edge. Rested the blade flush on it (as if it were cutting) held the handle in comfortable position, and whittled the blade seat until it was the right angle, then cut the rebate. I temporily fastened masking tape to hold the blade while I did all those adjustments. Then epoxied it in, added a capping piece, then whipped it with seine twine, oil finish will go on over night.
