Make it wide. A useful feature would be to add two strips of Velcro ( one male, one female) to the side, about 20 cm apart. This way you can restrict the width for summer use (less clothes on). Also I find that I would love to have a zipped mesh pocket on outside chest for watch.

Also a pocket for jumper on the inside where the head rests, to create a kind of pillow.
Mummy design.
Colour? Does not matter. Nothing garish.

Ideal sleeping bag for me;

- Olive green
- Durable material / double stitching
- Good quality synthetic fill, with about -5/8 comfort
- Mummy shape with hood but slightly wider than normal to wear clothing inside to dry off, add warmth etc..
- Re-enforced section at the foot, from about the knee down. A Couple of pockets inside the bag for kit, medium sized.
- Center burst opening chunky zip, velcro to hold the baffle closed. Zip going to about the waist.
- Not so bulky as to be a pain to carry.

Just some ideas
