Hello all, I want someone competent to teach me the basics of leatherwork i.e. decent quality cutting, sewing and wet-moulding; just the basics up to a point where I can go on and teach myself more. You don't need to be a saddler, just able to produce quality stuff. In return I can teach blacksmithing.
I have a well set up forge and can guide you to make pretty much anything, in mild steel or tool steel - but I specialise in 18th Century cooking gear (type my name + UK into a search engine and you can see some of the stuff I make).
I started smithing because I couldn't buy the things I wanted other than from antique shops; I now sell such things and sometimes teach how to make them too. I am near Kings Langley in Hertfordshire so someone not too far away would be ideal.
If you are interested in this please PM me.
