Skill share/meetup, Wooplaw woods, Scottish Borders, Fri.23rd-Sun.25th Oct.

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I just wanted to give folks a heads up, i will be shooting video this weekend, if anyone is not comfortable being on camera (to be edited and uploaded to youtube for educational and entertainment purposes) please don't be shy just let me know and i'll make sure you do not end up in the final edit either by editing you out or blurring your face, on the flip side if anyone wants to help make some little instructional bushcrafty vids please give me a nod i'll be more than happy to shoot the video and edit it up

Hi folks, good to see a few will be turning up for this one.

GGTBod video is alright by me as i have my own YouTube channel.

Michael, you won't have any problem finding us as there is a road which runs parallel to the wood, the wood itself is the Axehead, i hope that makes some sense.

Cheers Stuart.

Cool stuff, will you be shooting any video yourself? My channel is brand new with limited subscribers at the moment but i'd be up for doing a collaboration project sharing footage if you're up for it.

Can you link me to your Youtube so i can check it out and stick you on my subscribe list

Edit;- Google is my ally, found you

No problem with video, shoot away. Nothing I can contribute though, my bushcrafting skills are nonexistant!

as far as trades/sales and whatnot go, would anybody be interested in a large Elwell felling axe? see THIS thread for details. if anyone is interested I could bring it as there is no way of posting it without it costing a fortune

That's a beauty of an axe for sure, wish i could justify owning one like it but i even managed to talk myself out of an SFA as i just don't use one enough to warrant ownership of such a tool

haha me too. I'm more than happy to keep it, as it sits in my workshop next to my sword. But i would rather it got used and appreciated a bit more. The sword is strictly for zombie apocalypse only...

That's my thoughts tools are for using and i can't justify having ones just for the sake of owning them, my inner kit junkie who i suppress daily does oggle stuff like that a lot though

im getting giddy now....taking a few things to trade...wool bankets of different shades , some reenactors types etc. montne smock in medium , a couple of wax jackets , some rucksacs bergan cyclops vulcan and simila. side pouches , some hats...bits n bobs...all tradeable or cheaper than family fish supper at the seaside lol.

It's been quiet on the boards for a Friday night, I think everybody's down at Wooplaw. If any of you are reading this while you are there I'm hoping that you are all having a great time and that the weather is kind. Wishing I was there.
Have fun folks,
GB.

Pishin doon from the high heavens this morning down at the boozecraft meet at Wooplaw lol

So far minimal bush and even less craft, from what I learned last night all in a typical wooplaw meet ;)

lol yep boozecraft the art of the beer bong lol.

how was the stews? i would like to have seen how they turned out and the jerky.

i would like to say thanks to stuart for organising this get together and to everyone who turned. was great to see all the different kit you all use and was good to speek to folk with loads of experience. im looking forward to meeting you all again some time in the future.

Great time had av just gotten back to Geordieland, the stews were amazing thanks Chiseller for the awesome roadkill it was a pleasure to butcher up those 2 haunches and was even greater a pleasure scoffing them down.

Thanks Stuart for setting it all up I am sure we will come again when you host another. Sadly never really shot any video except i got a little of Duncan playing the Scottish smallpipes around the fire on Saturday night which i will load up once i get myself settled home, only took a few pics too which i will upload later on when my net speeds up
