I just got mself one of these, they are fantastic!

It took me 20minutes to cut down a tree with my old saw but this one whipped through it in 30seconds. The blade is 13 inches.

Nice one, I got a Silky Pocketboy (170mm) for my birthday in November and have to say it's a really nice saw. The design is really rather good, and as you say, cutting power is impressive.

excellent saws, if a little pricey..also good are the samurai and even the humble CeKa.... they get a lot of use in my work.

One thing I've learnt about these saws is that you have to treat them as you would a very sharp knife... drop one on the back of your hand and you'll know about it

I use both, a saw instead or an axe.
Cutting branches to size for firewood is much easier with a saw. For this I normally take a generic japanese folding saw with a 170mm blade and here I tried my biggest one on a bigger tree:

Then with the saw:

I had to saw from all four sides to get through the trunk, but it worked ok
