'Shrooms!

Dunno whether this should in the flora & fauna section, but here goes...

Having had a lot of dry weather, all of the summer mushrooms have been in short supply here in South Wales. Suddenly we get a bit of rain (ok, a lot of rain!) and I'm finding Larch Bolete, Dryads Saddle, and Field Mushroom in abundance. All good eating.

I feel a proper forage coming on...

I saw loads when I was out on Sunday for a few hours. Saw a monster sized chicken of the woods (yes it was this time Andy ) on a big oak.

I'm just not sure enough to be so picking many yet though.

Seeing the odd mushroom here and there - the good news is it's in places i've not seen them before. Fingers crossed for a good 'shroom season

spotted some fieldies yesterday in the car, noted spot to return this weekend when they're fat and ready
also spotted a couple popping up in my "secret" spot

its been a good couple of weeks for forage tbh, cherry plums in abundance, blackberries popping through and now mushrooms
