I did a 6 week course, joined the NFAS, then shot longbow for a short time, then left it a few years, re-joined the NFAS, and am going to join a local club.

This is the budget set up, I've just got:

Here's my setup...well used over the past week as we were in Arran staying in a little cottage with a garden perfect for getting out with the bows several times a day.

My usual bow is my compound. It can be adjusted from 25-55lbs and I got a bit carried away with the 'functional bling' fitting a 5 pin sight, whisker biscuit, bow mounted quiver, etc. Next will be a picatinny rail with flashlight/laser combo (even when I joke about such things, part of me kinda wants to).

I do also go with traditional, also love using my recurve bow. It was a gift from my wife last year and the catalyst to getting me back into archery. She has since returned the favour by destroying most of our arrows while we were on holiday. Well worth it for the enjoyment the whole family had.

Some of our kit in use at The Arthur Centre, Camelford, Cornwall. The archers are students and supervisors on the excavation there of Melorn, a medieval village. We like to make this our contribution to the Festival of Archaeology. Back again today and I will set up a clout shoot.

I'm still getting back into archery, having a go now and then.. Hoping to get more done... I made a bag for the bits, maknig it a little easier to cart around. I'd heard there may be a range set up at the moot?

I'm hoping to get into archery soon. SWMBO says maybe for my birthday, depending on what she gets for hers, lol.

Looking at getting a recurve takedown bow to practice with, so this is an interesting thread
