I know there's many different axes for many different jobs, but a double bit shaving axe????

Some great pics on Retronaut - the ones of the Yukon Trail are amazing.

In John Juranitch's book, called the Razor Edge book of Sharpening there is a few photos of him using a double bit axe to shave himself, not something to be done lightly or maybe it is.

I shave with a cut throat an thats bad enough, tried with a fiskers hachet once . . . Well its why I sport a beard most time now lol

A properly sharpened axe should be alble to make a feather stick that can be lit by ferro rod spark. If its sharp enough for that.....

Yeah after shaving with an axe you look a "bit" tasty, also handy for "hatchet" faced ladies with a 'tache...

The bloke being shaved looks very calm about the whole process! I wonder if he asked for a little off the top, too...

I love the Yukon Trial pic.
