Sharpening stones

[RM27]

Im looking for some stone(s) that i can carry with me to keep my blade in shape when out and abouts.
However as there seem to be many types of stones, from japanese water stone to diamond to alumium im not sure on whats best and most effect ive for what im looking for

I know the waterstone seems to be the best overall but also very pricey! and a tad big to take everywhere.
