Hey guys,

Hope you're all good?

As i'm just starting out in the wonderful world of Bushcraft I recently purchased a Morakniv Heavy Duty MG knife.

It arrived all good, and a great price! I am just a bit stumped as to which would be the best method/piece of kit to get the thing suitably sharp.

Any advice you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks,
AJ.

for scandi ground blades like your mora , sharpening is relatively easy due to the large bevels. You should get a good result with any large, flat stone, be it diamond or water stone. The most important part of the process in my opinion is the final stropping. It will be worth investing in a leather strop with a hard flat back, or making one up yourself. There is a guy called longstrider who makes good strops sells polishing compound too. His strops are very easy to use for the beginner and i think they are a worthwhile purchase.
