Easy answer, get somebody to show you! Not so easy route, spend a couple of quid on some wet and dry paper, attatch it to a flat board and buy a cheap mora to practise on. The mora has a flat bevel that you need to lay onto the board. Then you just push it along the wet and dry. Turn the blade over and go the other way. Keep going until it is sharp!
This is a more simplified version of the way to do it, but if you try it out on a cheap mora, you will not worry too much if you mess it up. Only a very rich person would use a benchmade to learn to sharpen with!
