Great find! I just grate cheddar over one and put it under the grill (you may prefer to grill it with a little butter first as it must be cooked as you probably know). I must try and get out today and see what's about.

Nice one. Collected more in one haul this year than i've ever had over years of collecting them. Dried and powdered, they make an excellent stock, fresh, as Janne says, they can't be heated. Tastier than cep imo.

Large ceps have usually insect larvae inside.
These do not have that often. Unusual.

The feet are difficult to digest. Fibrous. I used to eat the hats, and dry and pulverize the feet.
