Searching for Haematite & Iron Pyrites

The only place I know of is an outcrop near Dover in Kent - accessible only on spring low tides. A long way from the Orkneys. There should be some lumps occasionally in chalk - also found on the South Coast, but I haven't seen any so far.
 
Your best bet will probably to find a dealer in geological specemins, or minerals. Try a bit of yell.com or googling, or examples of these may be bought at museum gift shops, hippy stuff shops etc. as "birth stones" or "healing crystals."
