Searching for Haematite & Iron Pyrites

Hi - can anyone point me in the direction of sources for these minerals in their natural condition - and not from a crystal wholesaler?

As you can guess, they are for sparking.

What other stones do you suggest I try?

I will pay postage, if anyone has any rough bits to spare.

The only place I know of is an outcrop near Dover in Kent - accessible only on spring low tides. A long way from the Orkneys. There should be some lumps occasionally in chalk - also found on the South Coast, but I haven't seen any so far.

Your best bet will probably to find a dealer in geological specemins, or minerals. Try a bit of yell.com or googling, or examples of these may be bought at museum gift shops, hippy stuff shops etc. as "birth stones" or "healing crystals."

You could try these guys in Cornwall. They sell Iron Pyrite and Haematite, though you might have to ask them if its fine grade or not.
