Today I have been sorting out two maslin pans that I saved from the scrap.

I found them at the project I used to work at. They were at the bottom of a bramble patch that hadn't been cleared for 10 years or more. The smaller one was in the other one and both were full to the brim with stagnant water and rotting debris. This mean the condition was pretty manky as you can tell from the pic of the of the larger one stained solid. The smaller one was even worse inside as well as outside from having been submerged in the manky water. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of that one before I cleaned it up.

However a couple hours of hard work with a couple filament wheel brushes on my drill and they're transformed. I've oiled the handles and they're currently seasoning off in the oven.

Tomorrow I go picking Damsons :)

Things like that are common, but not an everyday find.

And certainly not a couple a free everyday find.

Not to be sniffed at.

Well done. Thanks for including the drill brushes that you used.
Were they something special or common?

They're vintage pans but not that expense to replace. Looking on ebay I could easily pick the 2 pans up for about £30 in p&p.

But the brushes cost me about a fiver and I've plenty of time on my hands at the moment so I've saved £25 :D
