Smock arrived today,, I like it and its a bargain @ £60! Only two things I dont like, cheap cords are used and will be exchanged for good 550, and theres a field dressing pouch on the sleeve thats just too big and floppy which has to go!

Yeah I forgot to mention the pocket.. a few deft moves with a stitch ripper and it can be removed leaving hardly any trace...

Got one of these a few weeks ago in sand colour

Very impresses so far, comfy , light and plenty of pockets

how warm is it?

Not very in its un-modified state... windproof, so you don't get the wind biting thorough. But as there is no insulation wouldn't count on it alone keeping you warm. HOWEVER, with the addition of a few 'M65' type buttons in the right spots its easy to button in an Alpha M65 liner. I did that this winter and it made a pretty warm, comfy and decent enough jacket.. with the a hood and lots and lots of pockets...

cheers
Gareth

Hi Guys,

While these smocks look and sound great why not jump onto eBay. There are some that are very similar (in olive) for around £30. Either that or look at MOD issue SAS/para smocks.
I bought a brand new one in auction a month ago and it cost me £12 delivered. I'm ex forces and swear by issue kit as it has always served me well.
