Made a little salt spoon from a nice offcut of bog oak and I quite like it.
Had to handle two Whittler Kev crook blades to finish it.Crook knife handles are in Rosemary wood
which feels very comfy in the hand and is developing a nice patina so glad I started the saltspoon now.

Thats very nice
Funny enough I made one for my mates birthday last year out of some bog oak he had found when draining a field in SW Scotland
Lovely wood to work with

Do you need to spoon salt much? :D Looks pretty tidy though - i like the idea of using Bog Oak for it!

Also, those handles are smart - must be some old Rosemary! Do they have any fragrance to them?

Stew a salt spoon is essential here on the Lakeland salt flats!
Unfortunately the rosemary has little smell once it dries out.Nice to work with when green though
and seems to have lots of indentations suitable for thumb grips.Dries very hard indeed so would take a nice polish
I should think.
Bog oak came in a boxful from Ebay so if anyone wants a piece or two give me a shout on pm.Pieces are all small
offcuts size of a thick pencil mostly but great to carve and the colour is superb. And thousands of years old too.
Thanks for all the comments.
