Sorry I didn't want to change this into a Carabiner usage thread.
I'd agree that Carabiners are useful for a multitude of tasks apart from their intended climbing use.
I think that a single offset 'D' solid gate snap link is a useful bit of kit and more than capable of a variety of tasks for bushcraft use including 'hanging things up'.
I just saw the Carabiners on Martyns sac and was interested by his selection as they are very use specific.
Maybe carabiners require their own thread.
