there was a thread a little while ago asking about molle set ups. I was out walking today and had my camera on me so I thought I would take some pics of my setup and post it on the forum.

I use a Lowe Alpine Sting and found I could never quite get everything I wanted into it so I added a few pouches to increase the capacity and give me a little more versatility.
I added 2x USMC sustainment pouches (these are the American equivalent to rocket pouches) and a USMC 2qt water bottle pouch.

I went with the 2qt bottle because I have the drinking straw conversion pipe that turns the bottle into a camelbak type system.

Looks great, but the heavy canteen would be better of closer to your back? This way the weight doesn't pull on your shoulders as much. I have the same bag, and I love it.

looks interesting, not really dabbled with MOLLE.
how does it compare in design/strength/weight to PLCE/ALICE gear?

I find it much easier to set up and change than PLCE, and I don't like ALICE very much.
In my opinion MOLLE is a better system, don't get me wrong ALICE and PLCE were good when they were first devised but webbing technology has now moved on and MOLLE is a much more flexible system.
the US issue stuff is good; the materials are durable and lighter than the PLCE and ALICE stuff. Some specific contractors to the US military are SDS, AITES, EAGLE INDUSTRIES, LONDON BRIDGE, PARCELET
There are also a lot of good commercially made stuff as well, such as MAXPEDITION, TACTICAL TAILOR, TRUE SPEC.

If you want to get US issue stuff my advice is go for the US Marine Core stuff as it seems to be of a higher quality to that of the army issue gear.
