rope lighters

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
You'll need a lid. The Spanish ones come with a lid on a hooked spike that you shove into the rope. When you're done, pull the end of the rope and the burning end is drawn back into the sleeve and the lid shuts. To reopen, pull the lid off and it draws the rope back out.

I'm sure I've seen them for sale somewhere.

Here, with the lid. Called chisquero.

Now that's clever!!

I just converted a cheap chinese imco clone. works really well and took 2 mins. Drill the bottom, open up the top wide enough to place friction on the rope and thread with match cord. you can also still remove it after its lit to use for fire lighting.
