So here is my first spoon made of a branch I found... as you can see i left the pith in as i didnt have much wood to work with as the branch was thin.. luckily the pith didnt dry and crack..

My second spoon came out better as the piece of wood i carved was thicker..

My third and most elaborate is the one I carved for my girlfiriend as a surprise.. hence the heart....

And my first knife I made was really in response to the butter spreading knives my girlfriends family and friends all seem to use in Sweden... I thought I could make a cooler one.. which i think i managed to accomplish... now I can butter my toast every morning Rambo style.. :p

All were carved with a £10 Mora companion and a crook knife and the final knife and spoon finished in walnut oil.

Thanks for looking.. and sorry for adding the links twice.. i still down know how to actually upload an image so thought id try another way.. if links dont work the ones below will..

You seem to have a natural ability there; very nice work for your first pieces.

Excellent touch with the subtle butter knife!

Thanks guys, Yea im quite pleased with the progression.. I found with the first two spoons i sometimes rushed with cuts and by doing so often cut too deep and the spoon I was making kept having to get smaller and smaller.. I find the best way it to take my time.. if i get bored, tired or frustrated which I mainly get the latter I just have to put it down so I don't ruin all the work I put in... I did actually attempt to make a fork and all was going well but I learn that 4 prongs is a bit too ambitious when im limited to the blade of the mora companion.. I couldnt carve them out properly and ended up cracking it.... ahh well.. as Meatloaf would say.... "2 out of 3 aint bad"

the pieces actually came from half a log which i actually cleaned up and was going to try and make a rectangular bowl from but realised that was way too ambitious with just a small crook knife.. I'td have taken an eternity! so i split it into 3 pieces like the one in the middle below..
