Just been out for a dawn mooch and can report back that the roe are 'at it'. I watched a middle aged buck chasing a doe around a barley field like a thing posessed. Eventually she gave in and it was all over in a matter of seconds. Immediately after the buck lost interest and lie down to rest, sound familiar lads??
This is only the second time I've watched the mating process. On the first occasion I shot the poor chap once he'd sown his seed.....but he did die with a smile on his face.
