Hello, following on from yesterday, we decided to have a night at home, although the kids camped in the garden.
We were up bright and early, and after a vote, i decided! We would have a river day, so i took us to various old haunts from my childhood, which went down well, we all managed a swim, and top marks to the youngest as he only learn't to swim 2 weeks ago, and after a bit of confidence building, was in like a goodun!
Even er indoors got in!
Anyway, here are the pics, of what has been a brilliant weekend.

Thanks for looking.

Ivan...

There's something timeless watching kids swimming and playing in the water. Remember doing this up north in some pretty remote streams. If you really imagine back, these could be picks of Saxon kids frolicking or further back Iron Age kids, or even Bronze Age kids, there's still a great connection to the land, sadly not so much with some of our urbanized youth.
Really nice pics Ivan.
Cheers

When my kids play in water or just *in the woods* I like to see how far I can cast the scene back to.... They do what they have done for millennia when left without modern toys for a while :)

Thanks for the kind comments folks, we had a brilliant weekend, as the pics tell! We are so very lucky to live, within easy reach of the Moor or Coast and all of that lovely stuff inbetween.

All that knowledge, passed onto me by my dear old Dad, has not gone to waste, over the years, i am still lucky enough to get the same fun and satisfaction, over and over again, coz as some of you know i have about a million kids! And boy do they keep you young.

Those boys are spoilt Ivan. I mean this in the most un-detrimental way possible.
Good times outdoors versus materialistic plastic toys and playstation is no competition.
I take my hat off to you Sir.
