A trade with Samon brought this to my door, muchly Samon! the belt that came with it was royal navy WWII this I'm not so sure about, its sheath is stamped made in England, the marline is dressed to act as a sharpener and the little engraving plate seam's a bit too fancy for an issue item, but dose feel to be old and is a nice little knife.
Well I got to doing some research and found these knife's also are known as green river or hunters dadley's , sailors or deck knives, I guess being simple has made it very adaptable and popular both sides of the pond! Also it could be just a sharpening rod to go with the knife and not a marline spike or maybe its both??!!
