Removing chlorine taint from MSR dromedary bag

Hi,

I have a dromedary bag which is about 6 years old. Before I use it I make sure it’s clean by filling it up and popping a couple of Milton Fluid tablets in, the sort used for sterilising baby bottles.

The last time I did this I was left with the taste of chlorine which, despite repeated washing and rinsing, I’ve not been able to remove. Any water stored in the bag now comes out tasting of chlorine.

Does anyone have any suggestions for removing this taste? I was thinking perhaps bi-carb might work.

Thanks,

Tom

Chlorine is fairly acidic in water so it might be an idea to stick a base in there, help capture the chlorine ions. I'd imagine that an indigestion tablet, chalk or milk of magnesia would do the trick.

Never tried, but that's what the chemistry says,
