Went to the bonfire in Blackwaterfoot tonight. While we were stood there my six year old daughter came out with "we have a bonfire every year to remind us of the bad men that tried to blow up the government".

I couldn't help but correct her, I said "No Heather, we have a bonfire every year to remind us to do it properly next time!!"

If the local kids threw an effigy of a member of parliament in the wheelbarrow, instead of Mr Fawkes, when they were coming round, 'penny for the guy'ing' I'd slip them a fiver.

One of the local bonfires is burning a model of HS2.
