The Tesco zip lock bags are food grade and and the chance of toxic build up from chemical leeching is so low as to be of no concern.

Food grade yes, but recommended for boiling? Unlikely. If they were, they'd be marketed as boil in the bag, not just food grade (like all plastic bags). As for leeching, that's depends what you're cooking in the bags that aren't recommended for cooking in.

Polyethylene releases chemicals when heated. I'd never boil in a bag that wasn't sold as such, or drink the water.

Anyway, I reckon you've got enough stoves to boil a pan of water and cook food properly ;)
