Ok, I'm thinking it's about time i got myself a decent sleeping bag, currently i use 2 or 3 cheappy Halfords sleeping bag (you know the ones you get in the tent packs) and for the most part it's nice and warm but for me it's not practical.

We tend to go camping about 3 times a year (April, July, October) with the final camp being with the cub pack I'm with.

What I'm after, or rather the boxes i'd like the bag to tick:
- Mummy Style (I don't like non-mummy bags, I find it gets breezy otherwise
- Fully unzippable (like non-mummy bags so if i ever went to the dangly side i.e hammocks, i have the option to unzip it
- Central zip (mainly for the possibility of above)
- Lightweight (I aim to be able to hike with it so the lighter the better, obviously as small as possible but i think i can get round that with compression bags)
- Waterproof - not essential as liners/outers can be used but always nice if it is waterproof as is.

Not entirely sure how many season i need but i would probably look at a 3/4, don't think a 4 would be needed but i'm open to suggestions.

Budgetwise I'd probably look at around £60 mark, probably expecting too much but hey ho i'm open the wisdom of the masses :D If at all possible, I wouldn't mind knowing if the given suggestions are avaliable in retail stores too, just so i can get hands on with it before buying it. :sun:

Although I own many sleeping bags-too many in fact
With hindsight I would go for a system IE a good quality base 2 season bag which is light and can be carried easily when hiking http://www.nanok.no/engelsk/page28/page28.html or http://www.nordicoutdoor.co.uk/nanok/synthetic/cool-5.html

Liners A fleece one for cold weather and a cotton one for milder weather-look on Amazon or e bay-The fleece liners are fantastic in a hammock as they don't compress
to waterproof use a Bivvy bag British army are the accepted standard but I certainly wouldn't rule out the cheaper and lighter options by the likes of Highlander and Gelert
Where the zip is has never really bothered me; as its a zip I ;would not get a liner with a zip.

How about one of these ;)
