Recent beach overnighters / weekenders / holidays with the trailstar, bell tent etc

Just a few pictures / comments from recent overnighters / weekenders with and without the little people, been under 'canvas' of some description every weekend at least 1 night in last 7 weeks. That's if you count the bell tent in france and cowboy cabin in Scarborough!

Bell tent in France (Royan) for two weeks. Me and the three kids.

East coast, northumberland way, overnighter with mountain bike, on my own, regular spot overlooking the beach.

This guy had a cool spot picked out...

Prior preparation and planning prevents **** poor performance, filled the meths pot, put it on the side, forget it. Twigs sufficed.

Next trip, does this count as 'canvas'?! Cowboy cabin in Scarborough with

Next trip, east coast, not saying where, two nights, different locations with my 5 year old son.

Next trip, west coast, ravenglass area, cheated this time as had all the kids, girls in cheapo 2 man tent and me and Jack in trailstar again

Last night, east coast, not saying again but I bet locals will guess! On my own.

Not overly 'bushcrafty' but good times all the same.

Yep, they're pretty good, my tactic is to use osmaps online which I have a subscription for to check the most likely spots, recce them then do a nighter to check them out. If you want to do some swaps when you have a few let me know!

There's a spot down from the clubhouse with a small dirt path, bit of a waterfall, looks like a possible spot if you follow the path up ?

I've looked on Google maps but no mention of a water source where the little waterfall was, wondering what it is.

Runswick on my 'to do' list as well. Had a look at the Cleveland Way between Scarborough and Cayton Bay yesterday, lots of evidence of careless camping, lots of rubbish, trees / branches sawn down for fire wood still living, there was evidence of long term occupation and at least one camp still in use. Makes me nervous of staying in that area, further north and south I still need to check out.

Yeah the way gets a lot of traffic and maybe the odd homeless occupation , I'd be thinking Whitby heading North myself,sandsend , Runswick , KEttleness.
I'm always a little nervous of solo camping in places where I might come into contact with other campers who might be described as less comitted to "low impact" occupation !
