Hey chaps. I have this swiss folder, ranger I think. That I've never used mainly because it feels crap in the hand. So this morning, I put some birch on it. I messed up the hole for the locking button on one side, but overall I'm happy. It now feels a whole lot better and looks prettier too. Definitely going to re handle some of my other blades too methinks.

That's lovely, very much the sum being greater than it's parts. Lovely form to the handle, imagine it'll sit nicely in the hand. Like that you've put the shield back on too, adds a nice touch.
Top job that.

The shield is actually the button to unlock the blade.

Thanks chaps. It was pretty straightforward to do. Have some smaller knives, the ones with the tooth pick and tweezers, and now keen to get some birch on those too. The smaller swiss knife, non. locking is the one that I tend to always have on me.

Did the same to my smaller one. Tweezers and toothpick intact. Took it for a walk today.

Best SAK re-scale I've seen..................Lovely work, turns 'em into a different item entirely.

I wanted to re scale my SAK as the old one is chipped but it is so difficult to buy them, not sure why???

I would love to make them out of wood but I would struggle with the tweezer and pen holes and it would look no where near as good as that!

Nice work - if the manufacturers see them I wouldn't be surprised if they bring out The Swiss Army 'Bushcraft Range'! :)

Funny you should say that. I looked on their pages, seems they do a couple with wood scales now. Not sure how long they have been doing it.
